Beurre de palmiste
What it is
Skin Gourmet Palm Kernel Butter is a rich, traditional butter made from pure palm kernel, absolutely nothing else added. It’s sourced from the Eastern Region of Ghana and produced sustainably by an all-female cooperative. Think of it as deep, comforting moisture in its most Ghanaian form, a daily butter for face, body, and hair that leaves skin feeling soft, protected, and properly nourished.
Palm kernel vs palm oil, quick clarity
A lot of people hear “palm” and assume it’s all the same. It’s not.
Palm oil comes from the fleshy outer part of the fruit (the pulp).
Palm kernel butter/oil comes from the kernel inside the hard nut, the seed at the center.
That kernel is where this butter comes from, and that’s why it has its own distinct richness and that familiar Ghanaian scent that makes you pause and smile.
Wait, did you smell that? We knew you’d like it.
Why it works (the “how,” not hype)
Deep moisture and barrier protection: palm kernel is naturally rich and protective, helping reduce dryness and keep skin feeling soft and comfortable for longer.
Softens rough areas fast: it’s excellent on elbows, knees, heels, hands, and any place that gets dry and stubborn.
Hair texture, frizz, and shine: it coats the hair well, helping reduce roughness, tame frizz, and add shine, especially on textured hair or hair that’s feeling dry.
A nourished look over time: consistent moisture and protection help skin look healthier overall; that’s the simple truth.
How it can be for all skin types, honestly
All skin types can use it; you just adjust the amount. Dry skin can use it generously. Oily or acne-prone facial skin may prefer it mainly for body or for targeted dry areas rather than as an all-over face butter.
How it’s made
Handmade in Ghana, sustainably produced by an all-female cooperative in the Eastern Region. Pure butter, no fillers, no fragrance, no preservatives.
Tip
Best when used on damp or slightly wet skin. Because this is a real butter, it can firm up in cooler temperatures, warm a small amount between your palms before applying. In very warm temperatures it may soften, if it melts, pop it in the fridge to reset.
Chale, old-school moisture that still wins.
