Baobab Oil (EXTERNAL USE ONLY)
What it is
Skin Gourmet Baobab Oil is 100% pure Adansonia digitata seed oil, virgin and cold pressed, absolutely nothing else added. It’s a lightweight, skin-loving moisturizer from the Adansonia tree, and yes, it’s pronounced “bay + uh + bab”. This is not an edible oil, it’s strictly for external use, and it’s one of those oils that makes skin look quietly better with consistent use.
Why it works for skin and hair (the “how,” not hype)
Collagen support and firmness, realistically: baobab oil is naturally rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidant compounds, which support the skin barrier and help skin look smoother and more resilient over time. That barrier support is part of what people experience as firmer-looking skin.
Evens skin tone and refines texture: when an oil reduces dryness, supports barrier repair, and calms the look of irritation, uneven tone and rough texture often look less obvious. Baobab oil is particularly good at giving that even, healthy-looking finish without feeling greasy.
Reduces the look of scarring: scars and marks often look more noticeable when skin is dry and tight. Baobab oil keeps the area comfortable and supple, which helps soften the appearance of marks over time.
Hair benefits: on hair, it works like a softening, conditioning oil, great for ends, braids, twists, and any hair that wants shine without heaviness.
How it can be for all skin types, honestly
All skin types can use baobab oil because it’s lightweight and you control the amount. Dry skin can use more freely, while oily or combination skin can use a few drops focused on drier areas. Apply on damp skin for faster absorption.
How it’s made
Handmade in Ghana. Virgin and cold pressed to keep the oil pure and true to the seed.
Tip
This oil plays well with others. Mix a few drops into your body lotion, conditioner, or shampoo, or blend it with other Skin Gourmet oils for a custom finish. In cooler temperatures it may become thicker and lighter in colour because it is 100% natural, warm the bottle in your hands before use. Keep it closed when not in use, store in a cool, dry place away from water, and refrigerate for long life.
Babe, say it with me: bay-uh-bab.
